Job Description:

Temporary Contract, 6 Months

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. is looking for a Research Associate with experience in pluripotent stem cell culture, immunofluorescence microscopy, and qRT-PCR to help us maintain, differentiate, and characterize our human stem cell cultures. Above all, we are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative individual with a passion for neurobiology research who enjoys working in a highly collaborative working environment. The successful candidate will be part of a fast-paced drug discovery team.

Requirements
  • Carry out laboratory work related to stem cell and molecular biology, including aseptic tissue culture, Western blotting, immunofluorescence, and qRT-PCR.
  • Experience with human primary or induced pluripotent stem cells is required.
  • Must accurately and reliably execute protocols.
  • Maintains accurate and reliable record keeping including database management, notebooks, and all other pertinent documentation
  • Must be willing to work occasional weekends
  • Experience with laboratory automation is highly desirable.

Qualification:

  • B.S with 1-2 years of laboratory experience in stem cell biology, developmental biology, neurobiology, or related discipline.
  • Must have rigorous attention to detail, and be adaptable to fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible schedule, including willingness to work intermittent weekends, is required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
