System Engineer AMTRAK



    Lead review and assessment of in service equipment (pantograph, fire detection, master controller, lighting) function and performance to specification;

    Oversee field diagnosis of equipment anomalies on train, including determination of containment, root cause, and corrective actions;

    Provide technical oversight of the implementation and validation of corrective measures taken by equipment suppliers to resolve in service anomalies;

    Create and/or modify contract deliverable data items as a result of necessary design improvements; inclusive of customer reports, other formal communication, and transmittal letters;

    Function as technical expert in equipment on the project team(s) to provide guidance and recommend required improvements in; equipment manufacturing, installation on train, routine testing, validation testing, and commissioning as required;


Other Responsibilities:


    Performing requirement development, coming from reference and applicable documents from Métiers, Standards, Certification, Safety, Platform and Customer;

    Reviewing the Train System architecture, operational modes and functionalities taking as input the external/internal requirements pertaining to the onboard equipment;

    Ensuring consistency and compatibility between all the sub-systems;

    Updating sub-system specification and architecture description (RSAD2) in collaboration with the TSE according to train level architecture;

    Updating the Technical Purchasing Specification when needed;


Knowledge & Experience:

    Bachelor in electrical engineering / Master degree preferred

    Fluent English

    Experience of 2 years in rolling stock onboard equipment
