Based in Memphis, IP’s Global Risk Management department is seeking an experienced Risk Analyst to join our team within Treasury.  Our mission is to design and execute insurance risk management programs that effectively protect the assets and earnings of the company globally. In this role, you will be positioned to acquire a broader knowledge of global insurance programs, technology, alternative risk financing and captive insurance techniques, claims management, and loss prevention engineering, to allow for your continued development in the field of risk management.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Supports the renewal and administration of global insurance programs
  • Initiates and coordinates the department financial cycle, including insurance budgets, allocations, and other accounting functions
  • Serves as architect and administrator for the department’s websites and technological resources
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners, including company facilities, business units and insurance brokers and carriers, to promote and enhance our global insurance programs and processes
  • Provides consultation on contractual risk transfer techniques in addition to insurance specific provisions
  • Supports the development and implementation of alternative risk financing strategies, including a multi-captive structure
  • Manages and analyzes large data sets necessary to provide consistent, accurate, and timely total cost of risk information to management
  • Identifies, communicates, and champions process improvement opportunities
  • Represents the Global Risk Management group on special projects as required


Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, or equivalent field of study
  • Minimum 3-5 years Risk Management or Insurance industry experience
  • Strong understanding of and experience with accounting and business concepts, including fundamental principles of risk management and insurance
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs with strong emphasis in Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills, including group presentations
  • Ability to manage multiple, sometimes conflicting, responsibilities


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), or equivalent designation
  • MBA or similar advanced degree
