We currently have the following position available: Distribution Center Learning & Development Specialist

Success is always in style at the TJX Companies! Ideal candidates will join us from all walks of life whether you are a new college graduate or transitioning from the military. You may have a more traditional background in distribution or manufacturing or your leadership skills may have been gained working in the restaurant, airline, hotel, retail or auto industries.

Utilize your leadership and operational talents to be a part of a collaborative team working towards executing, delivering and achieving business goals and objectives.

After an in-depth and personalized on boarding period, you will be involved and accountable for the following:

  • Conduct new hire orientation for the DC.
  • Develop and execute on boarding plans for all new Managers and Supervisors to facilitate their assimilation into the DC; monitor new hires’ progress to insure they are learning what they need to be successful.  Provide appropriate intervention when learning is not being optimized.
  • Develop and conduct management development programs and workshops for DC Management Team.
  • Develop and execute a learning agenda for the DC, strategically going forward a minimum of 12 months while maintaining appropriate recordkeeping of programs to ensure compliance.
  • Proactively partner with content experts to offer appropriate training workshops including compliance programs. 
  • Appropriately utilize cascaded training methods.

 Essential Job Requirements:

  • Effectively manages multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Provides clear, concise communication.  Possesses excellent listening skills with the ability to validate the message.
  • Assesses learning needs of individuals and the organization; provides recommendations on appropriate learning actions.
  • Proven ability to motivate teams and manage conflict by providing clear, objective feedback to individuals; uses constructive methods to provide effective coaching.
  • Ability to interpret and understand policies and procedures and apply them accordingly.
  • Embraces a team atmosphere.
  • Excellent PC and computer graphic skills.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts and all days of the week to support a 7-day operation.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Training/Development, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Communications and/or Education, or equivalent work experience of 3-5 years in learning and development related fields.
  • 3-5 years in learning and development experience including design and development of training programs and documentation formatting in a business environment.
  • Strong standup presentation and facilitation skills
  • Adult training, instructional design techniques and applications.
  • Writing skills, research skills, organizational skills
