Parsons is now hiring a Project Engineer  to provide construction management services in support of infrastructure upgrades at DOE laboratories and facilities across the United States. Parsons extensive experience in this field, combined with your project and engineering knowledge, will propel your career forward with opportunity to lead teams. We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in dynamic, team-oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and leadership skills.

 

This position will be based in either Albuquerque or Los Alamos, New Mexico and will split time supporting projects in both locations. One to two weeks (three nights per week) of travel per month is expected so that the candidate can be on-site at the other project location.

 
 
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Supports the development of scope, schedules, and budgets for assigned project elements.  Monitors progress to meet schedule and budget requirements. Identifies and documents changes in scope.
  • Monitors and reports project performance on behalf of the owner
  • Performs project control functions on behalf of the owner. Compiles and maintains cost and schedule data from multiple stakeholders for total project cost accounting and integrated scheduling
  • Maintains risk register and facilitates regular risk review meetings with the integrated project team. Work with risk specialist to conduct Monte Carlo simulations on risk items and use output to forecast anticipated contingency use
  • Utilize earned value management (EVM) principles to report, interpret, and explain project performance.
  • Assist Federal Project Director with other construction management related duties, as directed.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 
4-year degree in engineering or construction-related field, or equivalent construction-related work experience, as well as 3 to 5 years of experience in field construction is required. 
 
U.S. citizens ONLY due to customer federal requirement.
 
Applicants selected for employment will be subject to a federal background investigation and must meet additional eligibility requirements for access to classified information or materials.
 
DOE "L" or "Q" or DOD "S" or "TS" clearance is preferred.
 
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: 
Requires a working knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes, as well as some familiarity with industry practices.  Also requires good written and oral communication skills, and a familiarity with earned value management and scheduling best practices. Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, etc.) and scheduling software is preferred.
